lsucu exec 10/11

below you can find a little introduction from each of the 8 exec members of LSUCU for 2010-11.

Chair – Matt

Hey there! I’m Matt, a first year English student. I’m also the chair of LSUCU, which basically means I oversee the day-to-day running of the CU and work with the rest of the exec to help the Christians in Loughborough reach the campus with the gospel more effectively. I love Jesus, but I also love cricket, Gary the guitar and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream (usually not all together).

VC – Jo

Hi! My name is Jo and I’m Vice-Chair of the Christian Union. I’m currently a first year studying English and Sports Science. My job is to make sure all you guys are ok, whether it is everyone in the Christian Union or the CU committee. Join the CU Facebook group and you’ll be lucky enough to receive an email from me every week (yes every week!) telling you about all the exciting events we’ve got coming up. I also organise the epic weekend away we have in November. I love getting to know people on a personal level and helping in any way I can, I really enjoy talking to and finding out more about people so if you ever fancy a chat just come to me!

Prayer – Vicki

I’m Vicki and I’m 23. I’m studying Human Biology – the human body is incredible and we have an amazing God who made it! I’m prayer secretary for the CU. This involves praying (a lot!) and encouraging CU members to get along to prayer meetings so that God is involved in everything we do in the CU and so that we are relying on Him and seeking His will. Other than being a praying biologist I enjoy playing the piano and cello. I also love long walks in the countryside especially when I’m at home in Cornwall.

Mission – Sam

Hey! I’m Sam, and I’m a first year mechanical engineering student here at Loughborough. My main interest has to be music. I love to spend my time listening to and playing music. Good music. Unfortunately I do a proper degree, and so often lack the time. I also enjoy playing sport when possible, and I spend a portion of my time helping out at the Christian Union.
My role on the CU committee is missions co-ordinator. This means that the missions team and I frequently meet to plan, organise, and run all the evangelistic/outreach events across campus, so that we can spread the gospel as effectively as possible as a CU. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any queries, or have any fantastic new idea’s to spread the good news of Jesus across campus!

Treasurer – James

Hello! I’m James and I’m the CU’s treasurer. I’m a 4th year automotive engineering student from Milton Keynes. Being an engineering student I don’t really have free time, but if I did, I would enjoy playing the piano, playing badminton and eating curry. I’m a bit mad on cars, hence the course!

Secretary – Vicky

Hi I’m Vicky and I’m in my first year studying Chemistry. I’m your secretary which means I do any general admin and liaise with the speakers and look after them where possible. I also take minutes which are then sent to the rest of the exec. My role entails booking rooms for various events we put on. Generally I’m supposed to be pretty organised. Like all the other roles I’m hoping to serve you guys and God.

Music – Becca

Hi! I’m Becca, your Music co-ordinator and a 2nd year Communications and Media Studies Student (although technically a 3rd year as I did an art foundation year here also) My job involves organising the music and technical side of the main Tuesday CU meeting as well as various other bits and pieces over the year, such as the Christmas Carol Concert. In addition to this I look to support and encourage the other members of the exec in their positions looking to spread Gods message, see God glorified on Campus and people saved. In my spare time I enjoy dancing, singing, learning to play guitar, exercise and spending time with friends. If you would like to get in touch, whether it be about the CU in general or music/tech specifically then email :-)

Small Groups – Sarah

Im Sarah, a second year Sport and Exercise Science student. I am also Small Groups Co-ordinator for LSUCU, which means that I oversee the 4 small groups that run every week, on Mondays and Thursdays. I do gymnastics and since coming to uni I’ve taken up breakdancing too, which is so much fun but also a lot more difficult than I had first imagined! I enjoy listening to music, chilling out with friends and playing sport, so whenever all three of these are combined, I’m sure to be there!
