Way back in February, Loughborough Students’ Union Christian Union had
joined together with Loughborough Chinese Christian Fellowship to put
on an International Food Night. Due to the popularity of the event,
on May 19th we did it again! Food was prepared by very willing (and
very able) members of the CU and LCCF to provide a spread that covered
foods from nearly a dozen countries. But it wasn’t simply the food
that was international, with people from several countries in
attendance including Nigeria and Taiwan.

But why? What was the point of an event such as this? Well, as well
as bringing the delicious food, the members of the CU and LCCF brought
their friends along to sample the food and hear testimonies from CU
member Saul and LCCF chair Joy. It was great to hear the stories of
these vibrant young believers, and was just as great to hear the short
talk given by Matthew Fox-Lilley, who talked about what being a
Christian really means. It’s not about what family you were born into
or having to do things, but it’s about having a relationship with the
living God. This was another successful evening – expect many more
like this in the future. If you want to know more about the work of
the CU or about what we believe, please get in touch via the contacts
page.
